Hope you're having a great summer - it's a wonderful time for making art!
I've been working on making mandalas to hang on the fence over the sword ferns. I'm excited to try some of the same three dimensional techniques that I use with the shadowboxes. And I add to them when I get new ideas and new materials.
This is a picture of one of the pieces when it first started.
I added a painted ring around it, some bottle caps, and glass blobs.
But I was still looking for something to give the piece dimension.
One of the things that had come my way was a scrap of linoleum - so I decided to see how it worked.
And it seemed to work pretty well.
This is a side view. The linoleum cut easier than the matboard, it took the paint well and was flexible. Next to see how well it will hold up in the weather.
close up of the details and glass globs.
That's all for today
peace and love
Haint
