Tribal Circuits

Hello all,
Hope the spring has been great for you. I've been spending a lot of time outside when the sun shines here in Oregon and spending the rainy times making art.





My latest piece is called 'Tribal Circuits'.

And this is the rock garden that I'm working on in the shady corner of the yard, just planted some ferns behind the rocks.

The sun is shining right now so I'm getting off the computer and going outside.

Fueling the Machine

Fill in the blank

Hello all,
It's been a busy coupla weeks. Getting settled in my new place with a whole room for a studio.
But I found time to get to the last part of the latest piece.


I had finally figured out what needed to be in the last circle.

Details and Moving

Hi Ya'll,
Inbetween getting settled in the new house - complete with my own room for a studio - I've been working on filling in little details in the new box.

Most of it is hard to see the changes that are made.


There are just bunches of little details that I add here and there.


I never listened to my high school art teacher when they told me not to overwork a piece!!!

I'm still working on filling this thing in.I use a lot of repurposed junk for interesting shapes.

hello everyone,

I'm starting to go back and fill in details over the large base forms.


I have added some piping below the 'engine'



and some above.

Making it to the other side

Hi ya'll,

This is the part that I know I'm gonna make it - when I get to the other side of the box.


There are a lot of strange things going on here and I have worked and reworked this section more than any other.


But now I'm starting to feel good about it.

Fantasy Factory

Hi Everybodeee
Hope all is well in your world today.


I've been adding little details to the last elements. I've added some pulleys and gears.



I still have a lot to do, but for now I am building out the last large forms.



I'm working with the shape of the ductwork to finish off the bottom layers.

Engine Works

The gold levers were legs off a toy.


See if you can find the little metal rings that come off bic lighters.

Grill 'n Stuff

Hi ya'll
Hope all is well in your world.



I made a fan to go behind that big square grill.



It is hard to tell in the pictures, you can hardly see the fan but it keeps the box from looking empty.



This is the kind of things that I use to get some of the weird forms, it is a broken miniature plastic watergun. I plan to cut and paste it into something for this spot.

The Next Element

Hello People,
The weather has been so great lately that it's hard to force myself to stay inside and work. I have been getting stuff done tho.


I figured out how the new element should attach to what I have so far.


I put a platform under it and have done a lot of little details, braces, and piping.

Adding On

The Mantra Flower piece was at the Last Friday Art Walk in Eugene.
Now I'm getting ready for Atlanta FolkFest.


I'm feeling out what goes next.


Trying out several pieces. I want to connect this element to what I have so far.

Will see how it comes out in the flow.

Buzzing Along

Hello folks,

It's been a great week. I'm coming along on the new machine piece.


I have put a lot of details on the first element - now that I know where I want it.
I'm starting to get a feel for where the parts will go


I found a lot of neat plastic parts to add to the piece that I got at MECCA
it is Materials Exchange Center for Creative Arts here in Eugene. They have a lot of neat stuff to reuse for art projects.


The silver 'grill' is the plastic guard from a set of clippers - it fit just right on the platform I built above the first element.

Had a great week last week.

I don't know how they will fit together yet.
