Blue Lace

Hello Every one!

It's been a wonderful summer, and I almost got the wall mandala painted.

But now the rains have set in, and now I'm back to work on the latest shadow box.

This is a nice little circle - about a foot in diameter.

I'm going to try to keep it airy and light so the blue will show through.

And I tried them out inside the triangles.

I like it so far.

Geometric Beauty

Hello and a great day to all out there

I'm coming along with this new section.

Added some overlapping red triangles.

You can barely see the red and yellow beneath when looking straight on.

The patterns of the thin triangles makes the piece feel airy.

Back to work

Hello folks -
And a great Sunday

I have started on a new piece using matchboxes.

I made me a jig out of some foamboard to fit inside of the matchbox cover.

Then I cut out the center of the top of the cover to make a miniature shadowbox.

Will start filling them up tomorrow.

Metaphorical Echoes

Great fall morning to ya'll,

This piece is about done.

I have installed the right side and have the pieces lined up.

Next they are painted.

And I think the thing is close enough to be given a name - Metaphorical Echoes in a Manmade Mechanical Environment.

A few little touches and I can put the cover on it.

See ya

Covers

Greetings all,

I made covers to fit over the ribs.

But this looks a little plain. ho-hum

I had spaced the ribs symmetrically and neatly, so these cut outs are cool. It's starting to look like some sort of mechanoid butterfly.

Have a good one - and then another one

Making Circles

Hello folks,

I have a vision for the two sides of the centerpiece.

This is a small piece that I had done a couple of years ago and I like the shadow effects of the plain silver triangles.

I had to turn the two rounded rectangles into circles. So I made ribs to put a circle wall around. And I boxed around the central elements.

Now the inner circle walls are in place. These circles will be where I will build the saw-blade type designs.
