Hi everybody,
Hope you had a great weekend! And thanks to all who came by and visited us during the FolkFest in Atlanta this weekend.
We had a great time and met lots of nice friendly folks. Folk Art people are the nicest folks!
We are still getting pictures put together - but here are some of the first ones - more to come later.
Here I am talking with folk artists Shane Campbell and George Borum at the Rising Fawn Folk Art booth at the opening Friday night.
Shane is the 'Ninja Turtle' - recovering from back surgery- he toughed out his pain and came down to the show Friday. His compulsive and creative crow trees were sought after items at the show.
This was the first time for me to meet George Borum 'Murob' with Possum County Folk Art Gallery, though I had seen some of his works before. Great art and a real pleasure to meet him.
We had a chance to walk around and see some of the other set-ups. Here I am talking with (I didn't remember his name) a guy from Art Core. There were so many things to see that we could not take it all in. It was overwhelming and Littia was too distracted to take very many pictures.
Here's a picture of me with Adam Newman - 'borg/steampunk'. I liked his outfit so much that I chased him down to get a picture of him. It was too hot for his full outfit, so we will post some pictures of that later.
And in addition to making a cool suit - Adam has some nice and imaginative art in his Newmanic Tribe gallery. He takes glass things and fills them up and weaves copper baskets around them to make creatures, fan pulls, suncatchers or just fun things to hangup or set around. Cool and unique work
We will post more in a couple of days. Catching up on everything that we didn't do while gone - so the latest WIP is on hold for now, but I'm looking forward to getting back to work soon .
Thanks to all - you know who you are
Peace and love
